Safe Water Sports hosted its annual Fundraising Dinner once again on Friday, 18 September 2026, at the Ecali Club—a special evening dedicated to the Organization’s work, the prevention of drownings and accidents in the aquatic environment and, above all, to the people who consistently support this effort.

The annual review of activities was presented by the Founder and President of Safe Water Sports, Dr. Panagiotis Paschalakis, although this year the presentation took place in a particularly unique and different way.

The protagonists of the evening were the children themselves—volunteers and friends of Safe Water Sports who have been close to the Organization over the years and are familiar with its actions and programs. Through a lively dialogue with the President, the children presented, in their own spontaneous way, different aspects of Safe Water Sports’ work and asked their own questions.

In this way, the audience had the opportunity to discover the journey and work of the Organization through a more direct and human-centered approach: from the Information System and cooperation with the Hellenic Coast Guard, the Aquatic Accident Observatory and the Safe Water Sports app, to the educational programs, the Ocean Lab, the Safe Swimming Program, awareness initiatives for older people, the Organization’s presence in Cyprus, and its initiatives to improve the institutional and legislative framework.

The evening was hosted and moderated by journalist Antonis Katsaros, whose questions and interventions contributed to this distinctive presentation of the Organization’s work.

The Founder and President of Safe Water Sports, Dr. Panagiotis Paschalakis, thanked everyone who continues to support the Organization’s vision and initiatives, highlighting the importance of cooperation among civil society, the State, sponsors, volunteers and the children themselves in building a strong culture of prevention and safety in and around the water.
