Honorary award for SWS at AMVER Awards 2021
On Tuesday, December 14, Safe Water Sports was awarded at the annual AMVER Awards ceremony that was organized by the International Propeller Club of the United States, International Port of Piraeus in cooperation with the U.S. Embassy in Greece & the U.S. Coast Guard.
The event attended the Minister of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy, Mr. Giannis Plakiotakis, the Deputy Minister of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy, Mr. Costas Katsafados, the Director of the Port Authorities and Vice Admiral, Mr. Theodoros Kliaris, the Representative of the Navy and Vice Admiral, Mr. Ioannis Kalogeropoulos, the Admiral of the U.S. Coast Guard, Mr. Steven Poulin, the Vice Admiral of the Port Authorities, Mr. Isakoglou Nikolaos, the Vice Admiral of the Port Authorities, Mr. George E. Alexandrakis and the Executive Vice President of the International Propeller, Mr. Joel Whitehead.
Each year, during the awards ceremony, a unique personality and an organization that stood out through out the year are awarded. For 2021, the Propeller Club awardedSafe Water Sports and the President of the Organization, Mr. Panagiotis Paschalakis & the Olympic winner, Mrs. Sofia Bekatorou.
Anastasia Zanni opened the ceremony and sang the national anthems of the United States of America and Greece.
The distinguished guests had the pleasure to enjoy a beautiful evening, honoring and rewarding companies, ships and crews that voluntarily participate in the AMVER program and offer valuable services regarding research and rescue at sea.
